Szabadics Co. Ltd.
The predecessor in title of Szabadics Ltd was founded in 1989 by József Szabadics as a sole proprietorship. At the beginning the company only dealt with linear installations including sewage pipelines, gas lines and drinking water lines. Ever since the foundation two principles distinguished the values of the company: the sanctity of the given word and high quality work. This reliability led to municipalities placing more and more confidence in the company and they trusted us with infrastructural works as well.
By the middle of the 1990s the flaring of the business demanded the expansion of the company as well, therefore the two sons – Attila and Zoltán – started to work for the company. This enlargement happened parallel to the beginning of the public procurement obligation, letting the company gain a significant experience in terms of project preparation and assembling public procurement tenders.
Since all of the projects carried out by Szabadics Ltd were funded by some kind of grant, apart from implementation they needed to ensure the proper accounting by accentuating project management and the financial and administrative accounting of the projects.
By the middle of the 2000s, the company had gained a nation-wide significance, therefore the management needed to rethink the feasibility of the family business conception. Therefore they recruited many managers who had had gained valuable experience at multinational companies. One of them was Tamás Kovács, who has been the CEO of the company since 2010.
Following the economic crisis of 2008-2009 the business profile and competences of Szabadics Ltd had been expanded. Apart from building linear installations the company’s participation in technological developments increased; both the sewage plants and the drinking water treatment technologies were implemented by the company itself. Simultaneously they carried out nature conservation projects like dredging watercourses, building dams and floodgates in greater and greater volumes.
Besides the expanding profile they concentrated on the successful execution of their projects in order to ensure that the accounting of EU grants can be carried out properly.
